How to take this medication
Ultram should be taken in doses as prescribed by the doctor, and a lot of water should be drunk after consuming it. The maximum dosage for the drug is about 300 mg a day and the drug should not be crushed and eaten or inhaled, as it could prove to be fatal. The doses should not be altered and should not be stopped as well without the consent of the doctor.

Side Effects
With the use of Ultram, you may face some allergic reactions, and there could be swelling in some parts of the body. There are some serious side effects, which can be caused, such as seizure, or a blistering skin rash, which will cause peeling of skin. You could also have a weak pulse, and have shallow breathing. There could be fewer side effects such as blurred vision, weakness, drowsiness and dizziness. You can also face insomnia, loss of appetite, vomiting, constipation and flushing. There could be other side effects as well.

Drug Precautions
Any kind of sedative like Valium or others used for pain and other diseases should be avoided while taking Ultram. It should not be mixed with any drugs used for schizophrenia or any metal illness. After consuming the drug, you should not drive or get involved any physical activities. You also need to be careful if you are consuming any other drug which would cause drowsiness, for cold or pain.

Drug interactions
Ultram will react with MAO inhibitors as well as antidepressants. The drugs are Marplan, Parnate, Nardil, Eldepryl. The other drugs it will react with are Elavil, Celexa, Anafranil, Norpramin, Lexapro and Prozac. You also need to inform your doctor when you have any other prescribed medicines, and other ones which make you drowsy. Doses will be adjusted according to your other drugs.

Overdose
There will be several symptoms which you will notice when you have an overdose of the drug Ultram. You may have extreme weakness, slow breathing, the heartbeat will slow, and the skin will become clammy, besides feeling faint and going into a coma. If any of these symptoms are noticed, you will have to seek medical attention. An overdose with this drug will be fatal.

Missed dose
A missed dose must never be taken with the next dose. It should be taken as soon as you remember it, but it should be spaced out. It should be taken precisely as the prescription says.

Storage
It should be stored in a dry place, and no moisture should be allowed into the container. Temperature should be moderate, and children should not have access to this drug.
